CLINIC DETAILS
Week long workshops and riding adventures are designed for those wanting to improve their confidence, communication, partnership and safe riding skills with horses. Professionals as well as pleasure riders benefit greatly from this week of intense study and fun. As the week progresses each day builds on the previous. Each day takes on its own personality as side trips riding into the rolling mountains and numerous multi colored canyon, discovering and learning about the fern and fauna, horse shoes, swimming, roping, working cattle and adult camaraderie develop. Campfires, dinners under the stars, music, story telling, dancing by the piano, recapping the days events with new friends at happy hour, is enjoyed by all. Viewed as an adult camp with a theme, this format has the highest retention by the students. Working with a large variety of horses with varying personalities and issues, is an invaluable opportunity and critical to the learning process. There is no substitute for handling dozens of horses this week

Gentle Approach Specialist
Katherine Barbarite of Whispering Hooves, LLC®

One Day Clinic Featuring

“The Importance of Groundwork to Horsemanship Skills” Understanding
The “Missing Loophole”
And Master One Rein Stop

Whispering Hooves Ranch
95 Hunter Avenue
Miller Place, NY 11764

June 5, 2010

Katherine Barbarite, Nationally and Internationally known Specialist of Gentle Partnership Building, has mastered a straight forward set of exercises that immediately places a solid foundation keeping heightened safety in mind. No matter what riding level or discipline, this clinic builds elevated CONFIDENCE for horse and rider. Take home a higher level of trust, communication and bonding. Replace fear and competition with introducing yourself to your equine friend with the ultimate joy of the dance. Understand the three T’s Theory, Technique, and Timing of Frank Bell’s 7 Step Safety System. Begin your journey in understanding how to use the four quarters.
---Ask and Wait for Answers, then Give for Results---Katherine Barbarite
*Certified Horse Trainer w/ Frank Bell* *Certified CHA Riding Instructor Western & English*

One Day Clinic Katherine will be teaching the highly successful 7-Step Safety System which is used on every single horse she encounters, regardless of age, issue or discipline. In a step-by-step format she teaches her students the process of first, bonding with a variety of horses. The second step involves the most basic premise of all training, pressure and release. Intimacy follows as the horse quickly develops trust and confidence in the handler. Now the movement begins as the two drift into a rudimentary form of
dancing. Next the horse’s buttons are pushed as the search begins in finding the places that can cause trouble and perhaps even danger for the horse or rider. The issues are addressed safely on the ground. The sixth maneuver creates harmony as the horse and handler perform ballet on the ground as they glide in unison and become true partners. When the invitation is extended, the handler will mount and continue the dance in the saddle. Specific exercises are now performed using all the earlier learned techniques. The participants are left with a volume of information to apply to every horse they encounter in the future. This is a very full day with an adequate lunch break to rest horses and riders.
